The Governor's Office of Homeland Security helps to administer two federal grant programs for law enforcement agencies and nonprofit organizations within the Commonwealth. The Homeland Security staff can assist with the application process and recipient project planning.
Operation Stonegarden (OPSG)
Grants from OPSG enhance law enforcement preparedness and operational readiness along the borders of the U.S. Grant awards are intended to promote cooperation and coordination between local, tribal, territorial, state and federal law enforcement agencies.
Eligible Recipients: Erie County is the only PA jurisdiction eligible to receive OPSG funds. The award for Erie is around $95,000-$130,000.
Funding: The total amount distributed for fiscal year 2016 was $55 million nationwide.

Urban Area Security Initiative - Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP)
The Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) has assumed all Administrative responsibilities for the Non-Profit Security Grant Program (NSGP).
